Jewel box "Mother and daughter"

This nice picture couldn't let me just to admire it. Fortunately I had an clean wooden box to create jewellery storage. It was ready last winter but I didn't take photos of it. Finally I've found suitable background for it (I hope) and now I can show it to my readers. It should be good gift for Chritsmas for a woman or a girl I think.

Jewellery box "Racers"

It's the second time I create something for men. Previous time it was the box for my friend's son. The new box was not ordered but inspired by vintage pictures with cars.

Two mirrors fos sweet children

Today I want to show you two mirrors. I did the first at the spring as a gift to my son's girlfriend birthday. The girl loves cartoon about Tinker Bell. Our gift was really liked by the girl. My son helped sprinkle glitter tree. I am not sure it's visible on the photo.

Mirror "Tinkerbell"

Then my son said that he also wants such mirror in his room. I offered him a "boys' version - Lighting McQueen. But he preferred "something sweet: kittens or bunnies" (he is almost 7 years old). After much thoughts, it was chosen the ideal, in my opinion, option: Rosina Weihtmaster's cats. If you remember, a plate with these cats had already been confiscated by the young thug. The result you can see below.

Since I still had pieces of that napkin, I decided to make a second mirror. You can find it in my Dawanda shop.

La mamma exhibition, Thessaloniki 2011

There was an unusually high number of art markets in Thessaloniki this year. One of them La Mamma is held for several years in a row. This year, the Bank of Piraeus has sheltered artisans in its showroom. As usual, there were not a lot of works, but interesting. However, you may well appreciate them from the photos below.

Glues for decoupage

Today I present you some glues I used for decoupage

Universal glues

1. Decoupage glue - ArtPotch by C.Kreul
Very good glue especially for beginners, no-run. I tried it at different surfaces, the result was exellent.

2. White glue for paper
Common and cheap glue for school works. You have to dillute it 1:1 with water for decoupage.

3. Wood adhesive PVA
The same glue with above but thicker (and by this reason cheaper). Usually sold in big bottles from 500 g. You can dillute it 1:5 with water (1 part of glue, 5 parts of water). Anyway it's not for beginners. Experienced masters can try another ratio.

Special glues

1. Textil potch by C.Kreul
It's special glue for textil. You can decoupage your cloth with it. After 24 hours you have to iron it and you can wash decoupaged clothes at 40 C. Of course don't wait the same durability like from factory.

2. Porcelan potch by C.Kreul
Very useful glue for glass and china. The objects decorated with this glue can be used for food. You just bake your finished object in home oven to get safe for your health surface.

If I try a new glue I will update this page later.

It's summer now, time to get some rest. So I can show yu some photos from decoupage classes I gave this year.

Canvas

The canvas with hydrangea was created like sample for my pupils. In this lesson we learn how to do decoupage at the canvas and how to use transparent medium for creating shadows.

Below you can see some creations of my pupils.
These two works had not yet dried out, so wrinkles and glue are visible.
